Things are slowly moving forward.But its moving very slowly. I need color work done ASAP.What sucks is that our (Blue Baby Art) fortuitous luck seems to be running out. The people we commission to color got real lives and at this time we might not get color work done in time to make new prints by early August.I'm sure some of you are like you got a whole month.Yeah we got a month. But I also got to do an inventory count and decide which prints are going to be showcased, which ones are going to be boob tubed,and which ones are going to be retired by not being mass produced. My partner finally feels the need to want to go to a printer to mass produce our work.But he is leaving the inventory work and decisions in my hands.
This would be good news and it is. Only its on short notice and I got a lot of catching up to do. I'm taking on more commission work lately.So that's taking up time as well. Hopefully I can get 7 to 8 new prints ready for sale by late July. With that being said....
We are looking for more colorists. If you can digital color and got a quick work turn around time and want to make some extra money comment below or drop me a note. I'm going to be blunt, the person paying you is a cheap bastard. So far we have been lucky had have worked with colorists who have been kind enough to charge us way below the market value of decent to good professional digital color commission work. Some offers we have received were just plain ridiculous.I'm talking a one character simple background color commission costing $80 to $100.Which wouldn't be so bad if the colorist was a known established pro. But if your a no name whose work is as good but not better than who we work with then your services are too pricey. So far our budget is to go no higher than $30. Anything higher is negotiable based on the type of color commission. But your work has to be good. We will give a paid try out assignment. You meet our expectations we will offer you more color commission assignments.If you any further questions drop me a note.
I'm not in panic mode yet but I need those that are interested to respond soon.

2022 Ending already?! News and Commission updates.
Hi everyone! 2022 has been a weird year. Shit happened that was good and bad. Well the bad is that I took on way more than I could chew when it came too commissions. I had previous commissions I was working when I started the $10 commission drive. Things were off to a good start until had 2 of the worst customer experiences you could have as an artist. Both customers wanted re draws, tweaks, and fixes. I did a couple redraws for both customers. 1 customer wanted more tweaks and changes. When I decided enough was enough I told them I wasn't going to make anymore changes or re draws unless they paid me. This customer lost their shit. And wanted a refund. But I told them no. They threatened to report me to sue me and other shit.Luckily I had a buddy who mediated the whole situation and basically told the customer that they got more than enough for the money they paid me. And any drama going forward on their part would make them come off like they are scamming artists to produce more
$10 Single Character Commissions
I,m looking to make little extra money to cover the costs of having color work done on line art. In order to sell them as prints at Stockton Con next month. I got had 30 spots and 16 of them got filled pretty quickly by people on Facebook 0_O. I wasn't expecting that. Because getting commissions and even just selling prints on the Facebook has been dead. I got 14 spots left for $10 Single character tight pencil commissions. I'm also offering to have your commission colored for free if I like the drawing and feel its worthy to be a print. This is for a limited time only. This offer is available until August 13. These are not simple sketches. But tightly penciled 11 x 17 drawings. You will never find art of this quality for $10. Not 11 x 17 size. Unless the artist is a really talented crack head who is really desperate for money. No.I am not a crack head lol. I just needed a challenge,extra money, and felt like offering my services on the cheap to make some extra money. I will draw
Its Been Awhile...
Awhile? Who am I kidding its been 2 yrs. A lot of things have happened. Here is a quick recap. * 2020 happened O_O! Covid pandemic, panic, people lost their shit, protests, ect. No conventions. Made some money and but survived mostly on Unemployment and stimulus checks.Ironically I had a decent 2020 in terms of not having much stress. *2021:: My dad fell ill but fought off prostate cancer. My grandmother got ill. I had technical issues concerning my computer so I couldn't scan or produce art work for awhile. My mom caught Covid. Attended 2 conventions but only tabled at one of them. Realized that people don't give two fucks about you when your struggling. Had another health scare myself. But I'm ok. 2022:: The struggle is real. But I am trying to keep my spirits up. Why have you been away from Deviant Art for so Long Mack? I forgot my password lol. And I barely recognize this site any more o_O. Seriously I just got caught up with life,drama, stress, depression, anxiety, bullshit

But if I get all my commission spots filled up I may make it a regular thing. Because if I feel the piece is good enough( and with the permission of the customer) I will ink and have it colored free of charge. If I'm allowed to use the art to sell as prints at conventions. I will send the customer a hi res digital file of the fully colored piece.
